Virtual self-consumption batteries are solar energy storage and management systems, without the need to have physical batteries installed in the home.

This type of system accumulates the energy that was not consumed in a “balance” to be used later by the user. Thus, with the stored balance, consumption can be compensated at time of lower solar production.

Among the benefits of this system is the efficient use of energy, since self-consumption is optimized without the costs and space traditionally associated with batteries.

During the day, solar energy systems generate surpluses, which are store by the virtual battery in a “balance” that accumulates in the user’s personal account. Then, when solar production is low or the user is having high consumption, the stored balance can be used to offset the electricity bill and reduce overall costs. This system allows you to manage self-consumption more efficiently, without having to physically install energy storage in your home.

First of all, the virtual battery does not require any initial investment. The only thing you will have is a small monthly management fee to take advantage of its benefits.

The price of the surplus kWh (energy generated but not yet consumed) is calculated according to the indexed price amounts (the OMIE wholesale market) and the amount in euros is debited from the virtual batery holder’s account.

This accumulated amount can be applied as a discount to be amde on any of the invoices of the supplies contracted with Adx Energía.

One last factor to take into account is that the virtual battery contract has no permanence.
